Lilongwe, Malawi – 25 July 2025: Today, the Government of the Republic of Malawi has received an insurance payout from the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Group to the sum of USD $3,376,783, following a drought that affected the 2024/2025 agricultural season. This marks another significant step in the country’s proactive efforts to manage climate-related risks and protect vulnerable communities.

This week, as part of a follow-up mission on the ARC Gender Action Plan for Disaster Risk Management (DRM) in Mount Darwin, Mashonaland West, Zimbabwe, the ARC collaborated with various government ministries to engage with traditional and religious leaders in the district.
