RE: INVITATION TO THE POLICY DIALOGUE ON GENDER MAINSTREAMING IN DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT: MONOMOTAPA HOTEL, HARARE, 21 JANUARY 2022
Esteemed Colleagues, may I kindly invite you to attend a policy dialogue to present recent findings and recommendations on the gendered-differentiated impacts of disasters on men and women. The policy dialogue offers a forum for policymakers to discuss the findings and explore important elements for the implementation of the gender action plan that can minimize the economic, food insecurity, and social impacts of the disasters.
Supported by the African Risk Capacity (ARC), The policy dialogue will clarify the following:
- Policy coherence in DRM to ensure that women’s concerns are fully integrated in DRM;
- The importance of gender disaggregated data in DRM;
- Timely collection, analysis, dissemination of gender disaggregated data and;
- Partnership support in Gender and DRM.
The venue of the aforementioned meeting is scheduled on 21st December 2021 at Monomotapa Hotel in Harare.
