The ThinkTank
  1. What's is the purpose of the GDRM ThinkTank? The purpose is to contribute to the development and management of knowledge issues of gender and disaster risk management in the continent. 

     

  2. Who can be member? The GDRM ThinkTank is open to all key actors in the disaster risk management spectrum in the African continent inculding, relevant Ministries of AU Members States, 

    Regional Economic Commissions, 

    International Organisations, and Development partners, 

    Research Institute and the Academia, 

    the Private Sector, 

    Civil Society Organisations, and 

    Women Rights Organisations among others.

     

  3. What are the thematics discussions of the GDRM ThinkTank? They are 

    (1) Gender and early warning and preparedness, 

    (2) Gender and response, recovery and reconstruction, 

    (3) Gender, climate change, natural disasters and disaster risk financing, and 

    (4) Gender and disaster risk governance.

     

  4. How the GDRM ThinkTank work? The meet regularly through dedicated online tool around the thematic discussion, exchanges annonces, buid knowledge products, etc. and once a year during a face-to-face meeting. 

     

  5. What's the language used? English and French.
